Our slip-on martingale collars represent an innovative evolution of traditional martingale
designs. This particular design effectively bridges the functional gap between classic martingale
collars and prong collars.
We utilize 1/2-inch diameter polypropylene rope, boasting a break load of 3800 lbs,
complemented by two O-rings, each with a break load capacity of 660 lbs. For enhanced
durability and aesthetic appeal, the collars are meticulously wrapped with color-coordinated
paracords.
Similar to conventional martingale collars, our collars constrict around your dog’s neck when
they pull, and subsequently loosen when they cease pulling. However, this is where the
resemblance concludes. Our collars incorporate additional slip knots. This knot, as implied by its
designation, can be repositioned along the collar in any direction.
The primary function of this knot is to regulate the degree of constriction applied to your dog’s
neck. (It is important to note that this is not a choke collar unless intentionally configured as
such.) The secondary, and arguably most crucial, function of the knot is to provide a gentle
corrective pressure to the back of your dog’s neck. This occurs proactively when your dog
begins to pull, prior to the collar fully tightening. This mechanism is analogous to the natural
corrective behavior exhibited by a mother dog, who would gently nip her puppies’ necks when
they misbehaved. This subtle correction proves highly effective in training your companion for
appropriate leash manners.
